Keeping Track Of Your Monthly Outgoings

Managing your finances is fairly straightforward. Managing your finances successfully is tough. I am sure that the majority of us think that we do a reasonable enough job of managing our monthly income and all of our outgoings. But there is always room for improvement. I know I personally couldn’t list all of the dates I have direct debits coming out of my accounts, let alone all of the small, insignificant bills for a few pounds here and there. They soon add up. At the last count I had payments coming out of my account for 3 credit cards, 2 loans, a mortgage and about 15 other month-to-month bills. I honestly couldn’t tell you how much each one cost me each month and when they were due to leave my account. This is obviously very poor money management. Luckily I always have enough in my accounts to cover the outgoings, but it would be nice to know what is coming out and when and most importantly it would be nice to know how much money I will have left at the end of the month in advance then I can perhaps plan what to spend it on as opposed to just waiting and hoping that I have some spare. So what are the options out there to assist in money management? Well, the best option I have found so far in my searches appears to be the Kublax application. This piece of finance software has helped me out no end. All you have to do is input your current monthly income and then input all of the dates / amounts of your month-to-month bills (you only need to do this once). It will then calculate how much you have left at the end of the month and alert you of what is coming out and when. You will never need to look at another past statement again to check payment dates etc. You just give it your data once and you’re done. It’s already helping me make some huge savings as I no longer get hit with late fees, missed payment fees or penalties!
